About me

I’m the DC correspondent for the Allentown Morning Call, writing about politics, policy and the Lehigh Valley’s congressional delegation.

I came to Washington after covering state Capitols in California and Pennsylvania. In Harrisburg, I covered the annual state budget process,¬†oversight of natural gas drilling in the Marcellus Shale formation, and the 2010 governor’s race. During my two years with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, I also helped report on the Jerry Sandusky child abuse scandal and Penn State’s steps to move forward.

In California, I worked for the Associated Press and the Orange County Register, where I wrote about the Golden State’s gubernatorial race and the decades-long struggle to regulate medical marijuana.

I received my undergraduate degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. Despite my status as a Wildcat alumnae, I root for my native Nebraska Cornhuskers each fall Saturday.

When I’m not chasing news, you can find me hanging out with my beagle, Lucy, or on the roller derby track.
