I’m a state government reporter with the Orange County Register, writing about legislation, budget numbers and political campaigns from Sacramento, Calif.
I came to the Golden State in February 2013 after four years reporting from the Pennsylvania state capital. In Harrisburg, I covered the annual state budget process, oversight of natural gas drilling in the Marcellus Shale formation, and the 2010 governor’s race. During my two years with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, I also helped report on the Jerry Sandusky child abuse scandal and Penn State’s steps to move forward.
Before joining the Post-Gazette, I worked for the online news service Capitolwire.com, where I also covered Pennsylvania state government. I began my journalism career by interning with publications in Washington, D.C., Indianapolis, Birmingham and Reading, Pa.
When I’m not chasing news, you can find me hanging out with my beagle, Lucy, or on the roller derby track.
