Based in Harrisburg, Pa., I’m the statehouse bureau chief for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
I write about various issues up for debate in the state Capitol, with a focus on the annual state budget process, oversight of natural gas drilling in the Marcellus Shale formation, as well as the politics associated with state and federal government.
Before joining the Post-Gazette, I worked for the online news service Capitolwire.com, where I also covered Pennsylvania state government. I began my journalism career by interning with the Chicago Tribune, the Indianapolis Star, the Birmingham News, and the Reading, Pa., Eagle.
I received my undergraduate degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. Despite my status as a Wildcat alumnae, I root for my native Nebraska Cornhuskers each fall Saturday.
When I’m not chasing news, you can find me hanging out with my seven-year-old beagle, Lucy.
