I’m a reporter with the Associated Press in Sacramento, Calif., where I write about state government issues. You can often find me in the back of the Assembly chamber, tracking legislation on session days.
I came to the Golden State in February after four years in the Pennsylvania state capital. In Harrisburg, I covered the annual state budget process, oversight of natural gas drilling in the Marcellus Shale formation, and the 2010 governor’s race. During my two years with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, I also helped report on the Jerry Sandusky child abuse scandal and Penn State’s steps to move forward.
Before joining the Post-Gazette, I worked for the online news service Capitolwire.com, where I also covered Pennsylvania state government. I began my journalism career by interning with the Chicago Tribune, the Indianapolis Star, the Birmingham News, and the Reading, Pa., Eagle.
When I’m not chasing news, you can find me hanging out with my seven-year-old beagle, Lucy.
